A highly decorative detailed map, superbly engraved by Cornelius Danckerts and first published in 1627. It has an attractive title cartouche that is surmounted by royal arms, a compass rose and rhumb lines. The map shows the various invasions and internal battles from the Norman invasion in 1066 to 1588. The land battles are marked by opposing phalanxes of troops to the invasion places from Sea by attacking fleets. Published by Thomas Bassett and Richard Chiswell in 1676, with later hand colouring.
