An antique aquatint engraving by Matthew Dubourg after Manskirch. Published by Edward Orme in 1819 with original hand colouring. Ponsonby commanded the Union Cavalry Brigade at the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. His horse became mired in mud near the enemy lines and he was killed by Polish lancers during a French counter-attack. Some marginal soiling.
