An antique map of the Solomon Islands, renamed by Carteret in 1767, which was engraved by Robert Bernard for the 1774 edition of Capt. Cooks voyages by James Hawksworth. The route of the Swallow is shown as well as the direction of the prevailing winds. Tinakula Island is shown as 'un Volcan' in the centre of the map. The Gower and Simson Islands are shown in the inset map on the left side.
