An antique woodcut engraving entitled "The Army and the Navy" - Meeting of Lord Nelson and the Duke of Wellington (When Colonel Wellesley) from a painting by J.P. Knight - with "The Duke's Borders." This was published in "The Illustrated London News" on November 20th, 1852. In 1805 at the Colonial Office, in Downing Street, in a small ante-room, the Duke of Wellington (then Sir Arthur Wellesley ) and Lord Nelson, both waiting to see the Secretary of State, met - the only time in their lives.
