An antique 'Plan of the Battle of the Alma'. "Drawn and engraved by J.Rapkin from English and French official documents." NOTE - The Allied forces consisted of 27,000 English and 23,600 French and Turks were landed without opposition at the Old Fort near Eupatoria. September 14, 1854. NOTE - After this memorable battle which lasted about three hours the defeated Russians retired towards Baktchi-Sarai while the victorious allies, after burying all the dead, marched into the siege of Sebastopol. Circa 1856. Original handcolouring.

Published Oct. 20th, 1854 by Lloyd Brothers & Co. 22, Ludgate Hill. "Showing the Decisive Charge of the Highland Brigade under Sir Colin Campbell, supported by the Guards and Fusiiers." Shown in this lithograph are Village of Ulukul, Russian Battery, Heights of Alma, Fleets, Village of Amatak, Village of Burliuk and The wooden bridge over the Alma. Two repaired marginal tears in top left corner extending into the printed area, hence the reduction in price.
